New Zealand’s ROMOTOW T8 is yet another expanding travel trailer not unlike the cute ones we saw from Baeuer. The ROMOTOW is a comfortably appointed and sleekly designed towable travel trailer whose interior section opens hydraulically to expand the living area by 70%.
ROMOTOW Expanding Travel Trailer
The ROMOTOW T8 was initially conceived of in 2012, but has just now come to market.
The futuristic-looking travel trailer complete with a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and a built-in dinette comes from New Zealand where it was designed by W2 and constructed by ACM Motorhomes.
Push a button and hydraulics move the inner section 90 degrees, opening up an illuminated covered deck space with a fold down bench seat for two.
The trailer is available in two floor plans and plenty of customizable options.
The kitchen has a built-in dinette to seat two in the circular window alcove at one end.
The kitchen is equipped with a counter top that conceals a built in refrigerator/freezer. The dinette benches are available with extended seating to become beds for an additional 2 people. A kitchen island with built-in sink is available for those who do not get the extended seating.

The bathroom, which is located between the kitchen and the bedroom is complete with full size shower, toilet, vanity, mirrored cabinets and storage.
The bedroom, situated at the far end, has large circular apertures with internal shutters and end tables on either side of either a large bed or two twin beds. A pocket door seals the bedroom off of the rest of the trailer. Entertainment centers are available as either wall-mounted or pop-up.
Power is harvested from a 395 W solar panel mounted on the roof and a 200-Ah lithium battery. Customers can also add more battery capacity, solar panels, and an inverter.
Prices start at USD $268,000. / NZD 375,000
