Upcycler and Sculptor Gabriel Dishaw finds creative, environmentally sound ways of re-purposing waste. Combining his fine art background with discarded or found objects and materials that would ordinarily end up in a landfill, he creates tabletop sculptures representing his passions and personal interests. His most recent series combines his love of Star Wars with Louis Vuitton leather, hardware and other upcycled materials.
Louis Vuitton Star Wars Sculptures
Gabriel has recreated some of the well-known characters from the Lucasfilms franchise such as Darth Vader, C3P0, R2D2, Bobba Fett, Kylo Ren and even an AT-AT Walker using the recognizable LV Monogram material and hardware from the French brands’ leather goods. The results are amazing. And for sale.
It appears that many, if not all, were created for an exhibition at the Indiana State Museum Imax Theater to accompany the showing of The Last Jedi from December 12th to January 5th. Although most shown here have already sold, he is continually adding to his stock.
My love of sci-fi and all things “Star Wars” has significantly influenced my creature and figurative sculptures. I’m constantly looking for new ways to use old materials, showcasing them in a new light that is of interest to me. In that respect one sculpture can easily balloon into a series. – Gabriel Dishaw

This upcycled R2D2 was inspired/modeled after the iconic Luxury Brand Louis Vuitton and was created using a vintage piece of Louis Vuitton luggage including other upcycled materials.
